A madrasa student has allegedly been raped by his teacher in Munshiganj on the early hours of Wednesday.

The twelve-year-old boy had been sharing same room with his teacher Arif ul Islam, 28, at Lalmia Hafeziya Boys’ Madrasa in Munshiganj.

Arif molested the boy around 1am Thursday.

The victim, who went to his house in the morning, told his father about the incident.

His father Kabir Hossen complained about the incident to the principal of the madrasa. Later, the principal informed police and handed alleged teacher Arif ul Islam over to police.

Principal Md Habibur Rahaman said: “When complaint was made against the teacher, we held him and handed him over to police so that the boy gets justice.”

Munshiganj Sadar police station OC Md Yunuch Ali said: “Police held Arif from the madrasa around 2pm. Victim’s father lodged a written complaint. A case will be filed in this connection.”
