At least six shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at Nagar Kasba Bazar in Mirkadim municipality area of Sadar upazila on Thursday night.

Warehouse Inspector of Munshiganj Fire Service Montu Biswas said the fire might break out from a fruit shop around 10 pm and spread the adjacent shops soon.

On information, a firefighting unit rushed in and extinguished the blaze after one and half hour of frantic effort.
The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss caused by the fire would go up to Tk six lakh.
