Miscreants looted about Tk 60,000 after killing a gas company supervisor beside the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Baluakandi area under Gazaria upazila here early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Khokan, 45, son of Naduruzzaman, of Shaterosree village under Sadar upazila in Netrakona district. He lived at a rented house along with his wife, two sons and two daughters at Nabiganj area under Bandar Thana of Narayanganj district.

Sub-Inspector of Gazaria Police Station Aminur Rahman and Chairman of Bandar Union Parishad Ehsanuddin Ahmed said, Khokan had been a supervisor at KMC Air Gas Factory in Bandar of Narayanganj for the last 11 years. On Thursday morning, he started for Comilla and Laksam along with his covered van driver Tofazzal Hossen.

At night, they again started for Bandar, but at 1:30am on Friday, some miscreants looted Tk 60,000 at Gazaria after stabbing Khokan, leaving him killed on the spot.
