The police in Munshiganj on Wednesday recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from Manikpur area of Munshiganj Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Mintu Miah, 35, son of Moslem Miah of Nayagaon area in the upazila.

Local people spotted the body and informed the police in the morning, said officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Alamgir Hossain.

The body bore several injury marks caused by sharp weapons, he said.

Mentioning that Mintu came out of his house with the auto-rickshaw in the early hours, the OC said miscreants might have hacked him to death before hijacking his three-wheeler.
