A team of RAB 11 personnel recovered 25 tons of rod, steel angles, and 500 liters of oil
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered construction material stolen from different Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project sites in Munshiganj.
A team of RAB 11 personnel recovered 25 tons of rod, steel angles, and 500 liters of oil from a racket of thieves, during a drive conducted on Wednesday night. Four suspects were also detained in the raid, which began at 8pm.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, RAB 11 CPC 1 Commander and Superintendent of Police Md Enayet Hossain Mannan said: “The stolen material was intended for piling work on the bridge.
“The stolen oil was supposed to be used by water vessels to transport project personnel, equipment, and material. We suspect that a number of trawlers using the Mawa ferry route are involved in this racket. The drive still continues across different regions to detain the culprits.”
RAB sources said further details about the raid will be disclosed after it is concluded.
