Police recovered bodies of a woman and a child from a swamp in Sreenagar upazila of Munshiganj today.

Identities of the deceased – a woman aged around 22 and a one year old girl – could not be known immediately, said Mohammad Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sreenagar Police Station.

Locals spotted the bodies in a swamp in Brahman Paiksha village around 3 pm and informed police, said the OC, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

The police official said they suspect that miscreants killed them somewhere and dumped the bodies here.

“The bodies were wrapped in a bedsheet and blanket. We primarily think that the victims were mother and daughter,” said OC.

Police are working to identify the victims and are investigating the incident, the police official added.
