A mobile court on Sunday cancelled the license of an open market sales dealer and fined it Tk 50,000 on charge of manipulating weight while selling subsidised rice in Munshiganj.

Executive magistrate and UNO Md Al Junayed rebuked and fined the dealer, Kabir Hossain, while conducting a drive at Dholagaon bazaar under the Rampal union of the sadar upazila.

The mobile court conducted the drive in the area at 10:30am on the complaint that the dealer provided cardholders up to 2.5kg of rice less than the fixed amount.

Rampal union parishad chairman Md Bachchu Sheikh and UP secretary Kabir Hossain were present during the drive.
