Today is the 35th death anniversary of Abdul Hakim Bikrampuri, former member of the undivided Bengal Legislative Assembly and Pakistan provincial and national assemblies.
He held his position in the Bengal Legislative Assembly for 29 years, from 1936 to 1965.

In his long political career, Hakim came in close contact with veteran leader AK Fazlul Haq, popularly known as Sher-e-Bangla.
He was the editor of fortnightly Gramer Kotha published from Munshiganj.
Chin-e-Islam, Shahitto Kotha, Paner Baraj, Haraganga College Er Itihas and Prasanga Kotha were his notable literary works.
Different organisations in Munshiganj will be commemorating his life today.
