Police arrested six members of an inter-district robbery group while they were preparing to commit robbery on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj district early Saturday.

The arrested people are Aminul, Masum, Saiful, Shakib, Rakib, all are hailed from Narayanganj; and Rubel, hailed from Pirojpur.

The information was confirmed by Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Gazaria Police Station, on Saturday afternoon.

Ha said that acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid in the Alipura area on the highway and arrested the robbers at around 3:00am.

At that time, police seized a pick-up van, a Chapati knife, two knives, and a pipe from their possessions, he added.
