At least 30 people were injured, including six speared in a clash between two villages over a trivial matter at Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj district on Monday.
The conflict erupted around 1:00 PM at Baluchar Bazar mor where residents of Mollakandi and Khasmahal villages under Baluchar union were involved.
In addition to the injuries, ten shops in the market were vandalised.

According to locals, Shahin Bepari, 32, son of Suruj Mia of Mollakandi village, owned a battery-operated auto-rickshaw garage.
On Monday afternoon, an official from Sirajdikhan Rural Electrification Board came to demand payment for six months of outstanding electricity bills.
An argument ensued between Shahin and the official. Subsequently, Sultan Sardar, 40, from the neighbouring Khasmahal village intervened, leading to a physical altercation between the two individuals.
The dispute eventually escalated into a full-blown clash between the residents of the two villages.
Upon receiving the news, the army and Sirajdikhan Police Station personnel arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area.
Awlad Hossain, Chairman of Baluchar Union Parishad, said, “A trivial incident led to a clash between the two sides and injured nearly 30 people.”
“When I tried to pacify both parties, bricks and stones were thrown at me too, but I remained unharmed,” he added.
Sirajdikhan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Al Mamun said, “The situation is currently under control. Police have been deployed in those areas and the Army is also present at the scene. Legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident.”
