The Rapid Action Battalion on Friday arrested the main accused in a case filed over raping a madrasah student in Munshiganj.

The arrestee, Md Masud, 26, a resident of Chiknisar village under Bairagadi union of Sirajdikhan upazilla in Munshiganj , was arrested at Demra police station area in Dhaka.

Masud admitted his involvement in the rape incident. He was absconding in Dhaka’s different areas since a case was filed against him, said RAB.

RAB-10 senior assistant police super M Fakhrul Hasan said that they arrested Masud at around 11:30pm on Friday after conducting a special operation on information in Matuail area of ​​Demra.

Sirajdikhan police station officer-in-charge Muzahidul Islam said that the arrestee was handed over to them.

‘He will be sent to the court on Sunday morning’, said the police official.

Earlier on Monday, A 13-year old girl also a madrasah student was raped by her neighbour in Sirajdikhan. On the following day, father of the victim filed a case with Sirajdikhan police station in this connection.
