Munshiganj declared as scouting district

Munshiganj has been declared as hundred per cent scouting district because the scouting activities are going on in all the educational institutions here.

The district is the third in row of the announcement while Jhenidah and Sunamganj districts got the status earlier.
Senior Secretary of Public Administration Ministry and Chief National Commissioner of Scouts Dr. Mozammel Haque Khan declared the status as chief guest at a function which was held on Dr Iiajuddin Ahmed Residential Model School and College premises on Friday afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner and President of District Scouts Shaila Farzana presided over the function while Secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and National Commissioner (Social Development) of Scouts Md Shah Kamal, Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and National Commissioner (Organisation) of Scouts Akhteruzzaman Khan Kabir, Additional Secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and National Commissioner (Projects) of Scouts Mohammad Mohsin, and Superintended of Police Mohammad Jayedul Alam, PPM, were present as special guests.
Among others, Convener of Hundred Per Cent Scouting District Celebration Committee and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Harun-ur-Rashid, Deputy Director of Local Government Division Abu Saleh Md Mujibur Rahman, and Vice-President of Nazma Akhter were also present.

Later, a colourful cultural function was also held.
