Post poll violence injures 13 in Munshiganj

Some 13 people have been injured in separate incidents of post poll violence in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj on Monday morning.

Supporters of Awami League rebel chairman candidate Refayet Ullah Khan Tota and BNP rebel chairman candidate Abdul Mannan Dewan Mona locked into separate clashes at Majhikandi and Maddherkandi areas, leaving 13 people injured.

The injured were given treatment in the local health complex.

Gazaria Police Station duty officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Shahnur Alam confirmed about the incident.

He said the situation has now been brought under control and additional police forces are deployed in the area.

On Sunday, Awami League leader and also UP chairman Samsuddin Prodhan was killed and 25 others were injured in separate clashes in Gazaria during the upazila election.
