The marriage was arranged with a youth of the same village, says the executive magistrate. A mobile court has sentenced a mother to three days imprisonment for arranging marriage of her school going daughter at Raripara village under Adhara union in Munshiganj.
Executive Magistrate Purshia Akter led the mobile court and made the order on Monday afternoon.
Purshia said: “Dulali Akter, daughter of Shariuddin Shikder, is a student of class six. When we were informed about the arrangement of her marriage, we rushed in stopped it.”
The mother of the daughter was sentenced to three days in jail for arranging child marriage, she said, adding the marriage was arranged with a youth of the same village.
