9 held for ‘leaking class II-IV questions’ in Munshiganj

Police have arrested nine persons for their alleged involvement in leaking question papers of class II-IV in Munshiganj.

As per instruction of Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Sayla Farzana, the law enforcers conducted raids at different messes of the town last night and made the arrests, reports our Munshiganj correspondent quoting Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Alamgir Hossain.

The arrestees are: Md Kajim, Rafiqul Islam, Ratan Mia, Abdur Rahim, Md Kamrul, Mostafizur Rahman, Riaz Mia, Shakhawat Hossain and Zakir Hossain.

The DC’s instruction came after the administration found evidence of leak of the question papers of the English examination scheduled for today.

Police claimed that they found the leaked questions in the smart phones owned by the nine persons.

On Monday night, a number of parents complained to Deputy Commissioner Sayla Farzana about the leak and sent emails attaching the leaked question papers. Later, the DC cancelled all examinations of classes II-IV, scheduled for today at 119 primary schools in Sadar upazila.

New dates of the examinations will be announced later after preparing a new set of questions under the supervision of a magistrate.
