Two suffer bullet-shots in AL factional clash

At least two people were injured during the ruling Awami League factional clash over establishing supremacy in Munshiganj Sadar on Saturday morning.

Two vying groups of the Awami League at Khaskandi village under the sadar upazila clashed at about 5:00pm exploding crude bombs and firing bullets.

Locals said that the supporters of local Awami League leaders Ahmed and Mamun locked in the clash that lasted for over an hour. The two groups hurled over 50 crude bombs and several rounds of fire.

The injured are Asad, 47, and Robiul, 21.

Munshiganj General Hospital emergency doctor Saibal Bashak said that two bullet wounded persons were rushed to the hospital in the morning as they sustained bullet shots in the thigh and abdomen.

They were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their situations were critical, said the doctor.

Munshiganj Sadar police station inspector (investigation) Mohammad Rajib Hasan said that they deployed extra forces there.
