Former UP member dies from snakebite in Louhajang

A former union parishad (UP) member died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday evening as a snake bit him on the same day at Maijgaon village under Louhajang upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, 55, former member for three consecutive terms of no. 4 ward of Boultoli UP in the upazila.

On Tuesday morning, the deceased went to his IRRI cropland. Suddenly, a poisonous snake bit him and he was seriously injured. He was rushed to Mitford Hospital first, but as condition deteriorated he was taken to DMCH where attending doctor declared him dead.

Former Chairman of Boultoli UP Abdus Salam Molla said Ruhul Amin was buried at Poisa graveyard after his namaj-e-janaja at his own area.
