Case filed over killing of man by brother in Munshiganj following family feud

A case was filed in connection with the killing of a man allegedly by his younger brother over a family feud in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj last night.

The victim’s wife Kakuli Begum filed a murder case with Gazaria Police Station early today, said Rais Uddin, officer-in-charge of Gazaria Police Station.

Police have started a drive to arrest the accused.

The deceased was identified as Masum Sarker (35), elder son of Khalilur Rahman of Chhoto Basurchar village, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

Rais Uddin, officer-in-charge of Gazaria Police Station, said Masum often used to argue with his younger brother Rhidoy Sarker over their family business.

Around 8pm yesterday, Masum got into a fight with Rhidoy at their home over the dispute.

At one stage, Rhidoy attacked Masum and beat him up with a stick indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Masum died on the way to Gazaria Upazila Health Complex, said the police official.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy this morning.
