Manabjamin’s Gazaria correspondent dies

Sakhawat Sarkar, Gazaria Upazila Correspondent of the Daily Manabjamin, died early Friday morning. He was 47. Sakhawat died falling inside the bathroom of his house at Dotola Masjid area at Konapara in Demra at about 5am.

Family sources said he had been suffering from heart diseases and rings were inserted into the vein of his heart several months ago.

He left behind wife, two daughters, relatives and friends to mourn his death.

Sakhawat worked as a journalist for long 22 years.

His first namaj-e-janaza was held at Konapara Jame Mosque premises at 10am on Friday. After the second namaj-e-janaza at Kalimullah High School premises at his village home at Baghaiakandi after Juma prayer, Sakhawat was buried at his family graveyard.

Meanwhile, journalists of Srinagar Press Club expressed deep shock at the death of Sakhawat.
