Police set up 30 check posts in Munshiganj

Police claim the arrangement is not related to BNP’s upcoming rally
Police have set up check posts at a total of 30 points at Bangabandhu Expressway, Dhaka-Chittagong highway, and Sreenagar-Dohar road in Munshiganj district.

Locals said the police have been searching buses, microbuses, CNG-powered autorickshaws, and private cars at the Padma Bridge toll plaza near the Dhaka-Mawa highway and Mawa intersection since Thursday afternoon.

At this time, the passengers were also being questioned by the police, reports Bangla Tribune.

Law enforcers were also seen patrolling at six spots on the Gazaria section of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Munshiganj circle Khairul Hasan said that an additional 100 policemen have been deployed in Gazaria upazila for security reasons.

In addition to three mobile teams, two naval police teams and other departments are tasked with round-the-clock security.

He later claimed this arrangement is not related to BNP’s upcoming rally.
